National and Texas FFA Scholarships
National FFA Organization awarded $2.2 million in scholarships designed to fit the diversity of the organization. Students can compete for these scholarships on a variety of levels including academic performance, LDE & CDE contests, AgriScience Fair projects, and much more because the selection process takes into account the whole student - FFA involvement, work experience, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), community service, leadership skills and academics. The Texas FFA Association awards more than $1 million in scholarships to deserving Texas FFA members. Thanks to the generosity of numerous scholarship donors, the Texas FFA will award more than 135 scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors through its academic scholarship program. These scholarships are awarded based on academic and FFA achievements as well as the member's performance in an interview process. Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarships
The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo has been a long time supporter of Texas Agriculture and the Texas FFA. At the State FFA Convention many incoming college freshman receive four-year, $18,000 college scholarships, totaling $1.26 million. Additionally, scholarships account for more than $12.4 million of the show's $23 million in educational commitment, which also supports research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants, and various educational programs.
